Whether that is through witnessing the dramatic scenery of a hidden fjord, close-up encounter with wildlife in its natural environment or a simple glass of wine with friends or soon-to-be friends in a comfortable and relaxed environment on board. This is what inspired the name of our travel company, the variety of experiences, True Moments that are best explained by experience through our Signature Expeditions.

Whale Safari

3rd - 9th December 2025

In association with HeyOrca, embark on a thrilling Arctic adventure onboard R/V Kinfish, exploring the stunning fjords of northern Norway in search of orcas and humpback whales. In recent years, whales have been congregating in this area from mid-October to January to feast on the herring which migrate from the Atlantic Ocean to spend the winter in the fjords.

We have the opportunity to take to the water and swim with the whales, and with only 12 guests onboard, this is a truly incredible experience. This is also prime time to see the Northern Lights, one of nature's most spectacular displays with colourful ribbons of light dancing across the sky. Our itinerary is flexible and depends on the whales and weather conditions. Life onboard offers cozy cabins and hearty Scandinavian meals, and our approach to wildlife encounters is with patience and respect, and a deeper connection to nature. Frozen Landscapes

Join us on an unforgettable journey aboard the R/V Kinfish through the Svalbard archipelago, a spectacular Polar landscape of icebergs, fjords and unspoiled Arctic wilderness. Midway between Norway and the North Pole, dramatic icy landscapes, magnificent glaciers and an incredible variety of wildlife inhabiting the tundra are the order of the day.

In April, Svalbard is only just beginning to stir from the long winter months meaning picture-perfect landscapes of snow-covered mountains and lots of drifting sea ice. Polar bears have more sea ice on which to hunt for seals, walrus may be spotted resting on ice floes, and early-season sightings of beluga whales are possible as they navigate the ice edges. Discover the Arctic as it begins to awaken — wild, still, and overwhelmingly beautiful.

Destinations

OUR MAIN DESTINATIONS

Greenland

Greenland is the world’s largest island, over 80% of which is covered by a permanent ice cap, the Greenland Ice Sheet, 4km thick in places, while the coastal fringes reveal rugged mountains, deep fjords, and pockets of tundra that support life in one of the harshest climates on Earth. It is a vast unspoilt wilderness that is home to rugged landscapes, towering icebergs and spectacular scenery.

The east coast is virtually uninhabited and its remoteness makes visiting the area a true adventure. During the summer, the pack ice breaks up which opens up Scoresby Sund, the world’s largest and deepest fjord system with numerous islands, rugged peaks, steep basalt cliffs and mountains rising from the rich blue waters. The many active glaciers produce gigantic icebergs that are found scattered over the fjords.

One of the few settlements, Ittoqqortoormiit, sits at the mouth of Scoresby Sund and is among Greenland’s most isolated communities, home to approx. 500 inhabitants. East Greenland is a largely untouched expanse known for its raw natural beauty.

Svalbard

Raw wilderness meets pristine beauty at the edge of the world. Midway between Norway and the North Pole, the Svalbard archipelago is a spectacular Polar landscape of icebergs, fjords and unspoiled Arctic wilderness. 60% of its land is covered in ice, with over 2,000 glaciers of varying sizes.

It is Europe’s largest wilderness, a collection of islands within Norway that are closer to the North Pole than they are to the capital city of Oslo. Dramatic icy landscapes, magnificent glaciers and an incredible variety of wildlife inhabiting the tundra are the order of the day.

An expedition onboard R/V Kinfish focuses on exploring Svalbard in search of Arctic flora and fauna, as well as its rich history. From polar bears and Arctic foxes to walruses and migratory seabirds, the wildlife is as captivating as the High Arctic landscapes they inhabit.

Northern Norway

Northern Norway, stretching from Tromsø further into the Arctic Circle, unfolds as a region of unspoiled natural beauty, defined by rugged mountains, deep fjords, and a vast coastline. Along these remote shores lie small, resilient coastal communities such as those near Skjervøy and Alta, where life is closely tied to the rhythms of nature and the sea.

In winter, the cold fjords come alive as orcas and humpback whales arrive to feed on migrating herring, providing extraordinary wildlife encounters just offshore, whilst the long polar nights set the stage for the possibility to see spectacular displays of the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.

As winter gives way to spring, the snow-covered mountains, particularly in the Lyngen Alps, become a playground for skiers seeking pristine backcountry terrain and sweeping views over the fjords.
